In the Forssa region, there are plenty of interesting museums, art exhibitions and craftsmen's workshops to visit, where the history, local stories and culture of the region comes alive.
The Museum Railway, Narrow Gauge Rail Museum and the Minkiö station environment are filled with nostalgic rail travel atmosphere, including a café and a terrace.
Scheduled steam trains in June and July on Sundays and in August on Saturdays.
In addition to taking a steam train you can also rent handcars at Jokioinen Museum Railway. With the handcar you can travel at your own speed. You will enjoy the lovely countryside. If u want you can even stop at a fire place at an ex gravel pit. The handcars are two person handcars that can carry up to four people. There are total of four handcars for rent so you can even take your friends on board! You can rent the handcars at the Minkiö station while the Minkiö Narrow Gauge Museum is open. You cannot rent handcars when the scheduled trains are running.
At Jokioinen Museum Railway it is also possible to hire Your own steam train!
The narrow gauge museum and the summer cafe are open in the summer
9.6.-31.7.2024 Mon-Sat 10am-5pm (also rail handcar rental), Sun 10am-4pm with museum train running)
1.-23.8.2024 Mon-Fri 10am-5pm (also rail handcar rental), Sat 10am-4pm (until 19.8.) with museum train running
Saturday 9.9. at 1.15pm-10pm (Autumn ride).
Scheduled museum train runs in June and July on Sundays and August 19th until Saturdays. Visiting the narrow gauge museum is free for the public.
